  • 2 Guests

  • 1 Bathroom

Relax in one of our two studio apartments. Two quiet and special accommodations, lovingly called »Your Kingdom of Heaven«. Embedded in the 6,969 m² Venus Garden. In the middle of the southern Styrian landscape protection area. Your alpine sanctuary is at 1,000m above sea level. So close to heaven. The nights are still really dark here and the stars are sparkling like diamonds. The invitation to you is: You come up to us to come down. Active rest. It's like coming home. Your »kingdom of heaven« = dein HimmelReich is in our house, right under the roof. We have set up two lovely studio apartments there. Which can be wonderfully inhabited alone or in pairs. You can make a separate booking for each studio apartment. The studio apartments in HimmelReich are (still) called »top left« and »top right«. You are currently viewing the studio apartment »top left«. A heavenly, small realm on almost 30 m². Here you will find everything you need for yourself or for a cozy time for two. The studio apartment »above left« is wonderful if you love to spend time in a comfortable armchair with your favorite book. In the spacious dormer window you are even closer to heaven. The 1.40m x 2m »bed« is wonderfully suited for two people who like to cuddle. Up there you can set up a cozy cave from which you can surf the world on your laptop. The kitchen is looking forward to your cooking skills and the mini fridge offers enough space to provide your summer thirst quenchers or to house other delicacies. You don't have time to bake anyway, because you are either actively relaxing, or you are exploring the beautiful area or writing your novel. Your heavenly realm »above left« offers you enough storage space for your suitcase and its contents. The bathrooms are small space wonders for shower lovers. Both studio apartments were newly built in 2022. It is rented from now on, with a very fresh start in 2023. The price refers to a studio apartment per night. The usual local tax of 2.50 euros per night is added and needed to be paid upon arrival in cash. By the way, we are a family of 4, divided into 3 generations and a loving and sometimes crazy 4-legged friend. A small blond dog with a big heart and a lot of cuddling power. At first he greets loudly but after a thank you everything is fine again. As soon as you have found your way up to us, we will show you your little sanctuary under the roof. To make your self comfortable just put off your shoes and put on your favorite slippers. I will then guide you to your HimmelReich under the rooftop via the open staircase into the second floor. Now it's time to »come down« that's all you need to do. Welcome home, how does this sound? The HimmelReich is (also) the place where we as a family live, reside and work. As a guest, you have your (free) space in one of the two studio apartments under the roof or, of course, outside in the Venus Garden, in the designated guest areas. I can of course be reached if you have any questions. Either in live and color, as a person or via mobile. The check-in will always take place personally, so that you can always find your way up ;-). A 750 m long »pathway« leads you directly to the Alm Sanctuary, which is called »Dein HimmelReich« = your kingdom of heaven. Our piece of earth is nestled at the end of the path, all alone, between larches, firs, pines, spruces, birches and lots of peace and quiet. The only (audible) neighbors in autumn are the roaring deer and donkey Karli. Oh, and Bernhard's cows also going to welcome you in autumn right outside the front door. The property is 6,969 m² and is directly located at the forest. In our Venus garden you have a designated cozy spot under the birch or walnut tree during the summer months, where you can enjoy the »sweet doing of nothing« or if you come to us to continue writing your book, this is exactly the right place. There are two cozy places that we set up especially for the studio apartments. This is going to come in spring 2023. If you are looking for an active, healthy and decelerating break, nature is at your feet. You can set off your activities directly from our house. Like hiking 2.5 hours and 900 m ascent through the forest, meadows and alpine pastures up to the Hebalmsee. There you will be welcomed with a magnificent view over Carinthia and after 11 kilometers with many chattering ducks. So that you don't get bored on the way back or if you simply fancy local delicacies, you can make a detour to Werner's Rebockhüttn. The best thing to do is to make a detour to the rustic innkeeper and his hard-working wife in the Freiländer Hütten. Even the »Way of St. James« (Slovenia route) is waiting for you here, right on your doorstep. By the way, our sunrises are so inviting that in summer you like to get up just before 5:21 a.m. and look to the east. In winter, the groundhog in you gets a sleep bonus: Because Mrs. Sun takes her time and comes on stage cosily late, at 7.44 a.m. If that's not your time of day, the sunsets are particularly scenic from my favorite pew by the church. You'll be up there in 5 minutes. SOME OTHER GOOD REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD COME?! Pure nature and a few ideas for you MOUNTAIN BIKING & CYCLING If you prefer to ride a mountain bike or an e–bike, wonderful. That's a reall good deal up hear. Either you can ride by muscle power and rent our bikes (extra charge and you need your muscle power for that) or you bring your own (e)bike with you. The different types of cycling routes or hiking routes are offering something for everyone. From short and rather easy laps to longer and more demanding routes. We also provide maps for you. HIKING with and without SNOWSHOES You can start your hike right from our front door. It doesn't matter whether it's the »Way of St. James« (Slovenia route) or the extensive »Oswalder Rundweg« which is a circular route (approx. 6 hours). You can also just let yourself drift thru the marvelous landscape . You will always find a spot that touches you. Such as the »Dom des Waldes« on the Hebalm. The »Cathedral of the Forest« is a land art project by the Styrian artist couple Anne and Peter Knoll. The Milan Cathedral served as a model. Directly under the high tops of ancient spruces, the outlines of the Milan Cathedral were recreated in the form of artistically crafted wooden walkways. SKIING & CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING In winter, the rustic and tranquil flair of the Konrad Klug Hebalm slopes calls you. A wonderful and manageable place to go skiing in peace. Konrad Klug and his team prepare the best slopes for you. A few meters higher up around the Hebalm See you can let off steam while cross-country skiing. The network of trails extends over a total length of 12 km. Approx. 2 km of this are artificially snowed. The 1 km long »Seerunde« and the 0.6 km long »Grenzloipe« are equipped with floodlights. The trails are all suitable for skating and classic technique. SWIMMING POOL UP ON THE LITTLE HILL WITHIN THE VILLAGE In our little village of Kloster we have an »extinguishing pond« which is located on a hill. It has two functions. Once it serves as a water dispenser for the fire brigade and as a sideline activity in the summer, the »fire or extinguishing pond« serves as a swimming pool. Honestly, the pond is also like a swimming pool. And the very special thing is that it is accessible to you free of charge and can be reached in 9 minutes on foot from your HimmelReich! Ideal for early risers in summer, to enjoy your rounds in the water with a view of the Koralpe in peace and quiet. HEBALM SEE – MY MAGICAL FAVORITE PLACE at 1,420m above sea level and a BEAUTIFUL YOGA PLACE Originally. Cozy. idyllic. Again a quiet and contemplative space up here. The initial main task of the Hebalm See was to serve as a »snow-making pond« for a snow-resistant winter landscape of the former Malteser Hebalm lifts. In the meantime, this magical, quiet place has switched. In winter it is now used for the Hebalm's active cross-country ski trail network. And in the snow free time? It's even more magical up here: I love going for an early morning swim in the fresh water during the warmer months. Mostly alone. Wait a minute, that's not true. Because usually up to 30 ducks accompany me. I don't know the number of fish. But be asured ;-) they are there as well. In the middle of the lake looms a small hill island, which the ducks especially love. The lake is designed according to ecological guidelines. The shore area is a habitat for numerous creatures and water lilies. You can swim or walk here without limits. You commute back and forth between two loveley countries. It's just an enchanting place where Styria and Carinthia hug each other. A cross-border pleasure! In the summer months I love to unroll my yoga mat and unfold my body up here. And may be we gonna »do« Yoga together some day? The Hebalm Lake is 9 KM from our front door and you can reach it by food within 2 hours and 52 minutes. By bike in 1 hour or by car in 11 minutes. EXCURSIONS & EXPLORATION TOURS South-West Styria is known for the cultivation of the »blue grape« and the incomparable SCHILCHER wine. The Schilcher Wine Route offers you plenty of tasting opportunities. Art and culture can be found in the theater program or other summer events in Deutschlandsberg. Deutschlandsberg Castle can be easily reached in 15.8 km and Hollenegg Castle or Stainzer Castle are worth a visit in just under 20 km. The Hundertwasser Church in Bärnbach is also looking forward to your visit. You can reach the cultural capital of Graz in 50 minutes by car. But honestly, you come to us to BE here. You come up here to come down not to just visit a town! By the way: If you want »more water«, you can visit the natural bathing pond in Bad Gams (Gamsbad) within a 20 minutes drive or at the Packer reservoir with over 60 hectares of water within 32 minutes drive. Only 6 km away is the farmer's museum and the Herkhof, including the open-air archery course. So far so good and now I'm looking forward to seeing you and sending my best regards. Is there anything else you'd love to know? Just ask. Feel free to contact me here via the Air–BnB platform. The answer will come to you as soon as possible. Mostly right away. Just at night I'll take a good sleep;-)

🚗 ARRIVING BY CAR | MOTORBIKE or BIKE

The GPS usually accepts the address. But doesn't always lead you all the way to us. So here is a more detailed and very straightforward route description:

If you are arriving from the direction of Graz | Deutschlandsberg

  • you always drive in the direction of HEBALM
  • follow the road for 16 km until you see the town sign »St. Oswald | Kloster«
  • AFTER that sign you'll turn RIGHT into the direction of SALLEGG. Which is the only way to do so.
  • stay on this road. You'll pass the proper garbage dump on the right and are already officially leaving the little village of KLOSTER again and you still stay on that route.
  • After another 750m there is a driveway on the RIGHT side - turn RIGHT between two black pillars
    • {Just as an assurance: On the left you can see our neighbors Farmhouse look at the roof ridge and you see the inscription which is called »Steffelbauer«}
  • in front of you you see a red mailbox and a black sign above named: HOLZSCHUSTER. It stands in front of an old wooden hut
  • HERE you TURN RIGHT
  • at the end of the very long driveway you can park on the left

Welcome to »Dein HimmelReich« = your kingdom of heaven

****************************************************************************

Your route if you are coming from the direction of Carinthia | Hebalm:

if you come from the direction of Hebalm, drive through

  • Rettenbach and through the village of KLOSTER | St. Oswald
  • On the right hand side you pass »Gasthof / Pub Triftweber«
  • after about 300 m you will see the sign of the village »St. Oswald | KLOSTER« on the left
  • BEFORE that sign, a road leads LEFT towards Sallegg
  • you'll turn LEFT
  • you always stay on this road and pass the proper garbage dump on the right and are already officially leaving the little village of KLOSTER again and you still stay on that route.
  • After another 750m there is a driveway on the RIGHT side - turn RIGHT between two black pillars
    • {Just as an assurance: On the left you can our neighbors Farmhouse look at the roof ridge and you see the inscription which is called »Steffelbauer«}

  • at the end of the very long driveway you can park on the left

Welcome to your kingdom of heaven = Dein HimmelReich

Another GREAT TIP - If you are traveling without a car or are traveling by public transport:

You can book a transport from Deutschlandsberg to Kloster via the Regiomobil Steiermark page. Your investment is only 6 euros you are going to be in good company. Just give me a call or a sign, so that I can pick you up at the Regiomobil »Sation«, which is roundabout 900 m away
